Account Names - Usernames and Nicknames

There are two types of account name types on World To Build: usernames and nick names.

Usernames

Usernames are unique, permanent account names that players use to sign in on World To Build. Unlike nicknames, they cannot be changed or altered by players and will remain with their player accounts forever.

Important notes about usernames:

  • Once an account username has been signed up to World To Build, it cannot be claimed by another player.

  • Usernames are not changeable, even by request.

  • Usernames must be at least 4 characters long, but no longer than 20 characters.

  • Usernames may not contain any profanity or disguised profanity.

  • Usernames may contain alphanumeric characters, spaces, dashes, underscores and periods. They may not, however, begin or end with special characters such as spaces, dashes, underscores and periods or contain doubles of such characters. For instance, a player account can be named "World.To.Build", but not "World..To..Build."

Nicknames

Nicknames are a boost membership subscription feature that provide players the ability to personalize or designate a preferred nickname for their player account.

Nicknames are non-unique, changeable phrases or names that can be attached to a player account. When a nickname is enabled, a player's username will be displayed below their nickname on all parts of the World To Build website with the exception of games. In games, a player's username will not be available if they have a nickname attached to their account.

Important notes about nicknames:

  • Nicknames are available to active Boost Membership players only, meaning you must have a Boost Membership on your account in order to access and use this feature.

  • Nicknames must be at least 1 character long, but no longer than 26 characters.

  • Nicknames may not contain any profanity or disguised profanity.

  • Nicknames may contain alphanumeric characters, spaces, dashes, underscores and periods. They may not, however, begin or end with special characters such as spaces, dashes, underscores and periods or contain doubles of such characters. For instance, a player account can be nicknamed "World-To-Build", but not "World--To--Build."

  • Nicknames are removed from an account when a membership expires or is no longer available.
